In partnership with the Cameroon Bible Society, our Trauma Healing Ministry provides faith-based therapy and counseling workshops to victims affected by the ongoing conflict in the North West region of Cameroon. Through these sessions, many have experienced restoration in their faith in Jesus Christ and healing from deep emotional and psychological wounds.
Below are testimonies from past trauma healing events, reflecting the power of God’s love and the impact of compassionate care.

Healing a Young Marriage
A newlywed couple faced serious marital challenges due to undisclosed childhood trauma experienced by the wife. The husband, feeling betrayed and ready to leave the marriage, sought help. Through a series of guided sessions focused on active listening and forgiveness, the couple rebuilt trust and emotional connection. Today, they are joyfully raising their first child and are committed to honoring their marriage vows.

Supporting a Survivor of Kidnapping and Assault
A 22-year-old university student was abducted by armed men, witnessed a murder, and was assaulted before managing to escape. Deeply traumatized and struggling with fear, shame, and isolation, she received trauma healing support that included emotional counseling and medical care. By walking her through a gentle process of storytelling, reassurance of her worth, and scriptural truth, she began to regain hope and confidence. She is now able to return to her university classes and is on a path to emotional recovery, though healing continues.

Reaching Out to a Broken Family
A man abandoned by his wife and children fell into despair and alcoholism, becoming a burden in his village. Efforts by local Christian men, including reconciliation attempts, were initially unsuccessful. One day, in a near-accident where the man threw himself in front of a slow-moving vehicle, the author was deeply shaken. The event renewed their commitment to continue supporting this man with compassion and hope for eventual family restoration and healing.
Testimony from Benakuma – “The Great Testimony”
We are deeply encouraged by this powerful testimony from a pastor in Benakuma, following the Trauma Healing Seminar held in July 2024:
“The seminar was life-changing. The knowledge gained—through well-crafted lessons and contextual illustrations—has had a tremendous impact on my ministry. I’ve used the tools to counsel individuals facing trauma, from marital crises to grief caused by the ongoing regional conflict. Marriages once on the brink of collapse are now holding strong. Many who were angry with God after the loss of loved ones have found peace and healing through sermons inspired by what I learned.”
The pastor also shared how the seminar revitalized him personally:
“Ministry in this region is extremely challenging. At times, the burden is heavy, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But the trauma healing lessons continue to encourage and refresh me. They have become a wellspring of strength in both my personal and pastoral life.”
We extend heartfelt thanks to all our partners and donors who made this possible. Your support is bearing fruit in communities like Benakuma and across Menchum Valley. May God richly bless and replenish you.
