And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting
Romans 1:28 (NKJV).

A debased mind refers to a condition where individuals, having rejected God and His truth, become morally corrupt and engage in sinful and destructive behavior. It is a mind that has been corrupted, degraded, and diminished in its capacity for reason, morality, and virtue.

It can be characterized by:

• Moral Decay – A loss of ethical direction and a disregard for right and wrong
• Spiritual Emptiness – A lack of connection to God and the things of the Spirit

What Contributes to a Debased Mind?

• Habitual sin that desensitizes the conscience and gradually erodes moral character
• Constant exposure to degrading content, such as pornography, horror, extreme violence, or media that promotes perversion
• Substance abuse
• Neglect of fellowship with God and His Word

Prayer

Oh Lord Jesus, give me a clean heart and take sin away from me.
Hide Your Word in my heart so that I will not sin against You.
Teach me Your ways, for I surrender my heart and mind to You.
Empower me to live for You, that Your name may be honored in my life.
