There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
Corinthians 12:4-6 NKJV
I remember in the early days of my Christian journey, when I was first introduced to the person of the Holy Spirit, how deeply I desired to be filled with Him. I committed to praying for about a year—and eventually, the infilling came mightily.
When the Holy Spirit comes, He brings spiritual gifts. However, we don’t always see the manifestation of all these gifts at once. They usually manifest in response to strong desire and specific need.
As you go about ministering, take note: What spiritual deficiencies are you observing?
You can begin to desire and pray for the gifts that will fill those gaps.
Take a close look at the gifts described in 1 Corinthians 12. Identify what you need—and then begin to desire and ask God for their manifestation.
The spiritual gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8–10, include:
- Word of Wisdom
- Word of Knowledge
- Faith
- Gifts of Healings
- Working of Miracles
- Prophecy
- Discerning of Spirits
- Different Kinds of Tongues
- Interpretation of Tongues
The Holy Spirit is willing, and the gifts are available. Ask. Seek. Receive.
